Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) are voltage-clamping devices that provide surge protection solutions. When an overvoltage transient strikes, the TVS series brings its own power to bear on and immediately changes its low DC current conduction to a non-linear AC mode. This creates an electronic current clamp which safely absorbs and mitigates the excessive surge energy. The series is capable of controlling extremely high-energy pulses with excellent time characteristics, while providing reliable protection for sensitive circuits and components.

When an incident occurs, the P4SMA7.5CAHE3/61 TVS series start to conduct the surge current away from the protected circuit(s). The breakdown voltage can reach from 6.5 to 8.0 Volts, depending on the model line. After the transient is over, the TVS series immediately restore its low DC current conduction. Therefore, the device does not degrade or age with time, and there is no need to replace it.
