During this step, the diode is able to absorb and dissipate large amounts of energy from an input signal without causing permanent damage to the protected device. The P6SMAJ6.5ADF-13 diode has an energy rating of 6.5A x 70V = 455 joules. This means that it can absorb up to 455 joules of energy from an input signal in a safe and controlled manner.
The last step of TVS Diode operation is self-resetting. This means that once the diode has absorbed the energy from the input signal, it will reset itself and return to its original non-clamped state.
