It provides 8 bits of parallel input/output (I/O) portexpansion for the two-wire Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) bus. It fully implements theI2C protocol to control the I/O line, eliminating the need for hard-wired logicconnection. Working Principle
The PCA9534BS3,118 is an 8-bit I/O expander that combines both input and output lines in one IC. It is interfaced to the host system through a 2-wire Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) bus. The IC is designed to provide an I/O expansion of 8 bits with up to three I2C address configurations. The IC translates the I2C commands from the master into appropriate logic functions, thus eliminating the need for hardwired logic connections between the master and the expander. The PCA9534BS3,118 also includes an internal linear voltage regulator for supplying both normal and low power operation.
