The motor consists of two pairs of stationary and rotating magnets. The stator provides the magnetic field, which constitutes the constant magnetic flux. The rotor contains permanent magnets which interact with the stator’s field, causing the rotation of the motor. As the magnetic field is changed, the motor rotates faster or slower.Electric power to the motor is provided by a DC power source. As the power source is increased or decreased, the stator’s field alters, and the speed of the motor changes accordingly. The direction of rotation is controlled by reversing the directed flow of the electric current supplied to the motor. This is done by using a reversing switch.
