Working Principle

The PGSMAJ5.0CAHM2G consists of a P-channel MOSFET and a N-channel MOSFET connected both in series with a reverse-biased breakdown diode. This structure provides two operating modes: standby mode and active mode. The standby mode switches off the MOSFETs and current is prevented by the reverse-biased diode. The active mode turns on the MOSFETs and provides a low impedance path to ground for any transient voltage or current surge. The diode also has an ESD protection function.
