Application Field
The PI3301-20-EVAL1 board is suitable for use in a wide range of DC/DC and AC/DC off-line SMPS applications such as AC/DC adapters, open frame supplies, PC power supplies, telecom power supplies, notebook power supplies and embedded SMPS applications. The board is designed to work with 5V and 12V input voltage, and the output voltage can be adjusted from 3.3V to 24V. The board can provide a maximum output current of 20A and a maximum output power of 192W.
Working Principle
The PI3301-20-EVAL1 board is an evaluation board based on the PI3301 PWM controller. The board features an inductor-based Buck (step down) topology where the output voltage is lower than the input voltage. The PI3301 is a single-channel synchronous rectified PWM controller which adopts a fixed frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) scheme. The PI3301 is designed to work with green mode PFC and supports an 85Vac load with online and line feed forward functions to reduce the line transient effects. The PI3301 has an optional built-in programmable components to set the start-up current limiting, the minimum off-time of the synchronous rectification, and the PWM average current control.
