1.Industrial control.The PIC16C620-04/P can be used for advanced industrial control. Working Principle
The PIC16C620-04/P ECU is based on the same Mi core architecture as its predecessors. The Mi core is an 8-bit microcomputers architecture designed by Microchip Technology Inc. and runs on an 8-bit wide data bus. The architecture adopts the Harvard style, with the instruction and data being stored in separate memory elements.The PIC16C620-04/P is a medium-cost microcontroller featuring four 8-bit I/O ports, two timer and counter modules, a parallel slave port, two pulse-width modulation (PWM) outputs and one asynchronous serial port. All pins are in a 20-pin DIP package. The device is powered by an internal voltage regulator and supports both parallel and serial communications.The main memory of the PIC16C620-04/P is 16 Kilobyte of RAM, 4 Kilobyte of ROM, and 4 Kilobyte of EEPROM. All of these are mapped together to form a single, linear memory space. The PIC16C620-04/P supports up to two 16-bit counter and two 8-bit timer/counter modules. All interrupts are individually maskable. The PIC16C620-04/P also supports two PWM outputs and two independent internal oscillators.The device is programmable using the familiar Mi Assembly language. Languages such as C and Basic are also supported by third-party tools. The programmers can, of course, monitor and debug the code in real-time.
