It supports up to 62 externally programmable I/O lines, meaning they need no external connected components to perform a function. These I/O lines are provided with the help of an 8-bit timer, 12-bit ADC, 2-channel Comparator, dual high-speed Capture / Compare / PWM and advanced SPI. Besides that, it also includes dedicated I/O for LCD, Serial Communication and PPG Pulse Width Modulation.
The PIC16C72-04/SS microcontroller uses a power-down mode to reduce system power consumption when the processor is not in use. This mode can be used to conserve power in systems that need to operate continuously. It supports up to 64K program memory and 4K RAM memory.
