It provides extended addressing modes to support up to 4MB Flash memory, giving developers the ability to use larger application code with reduced address space requirements. The 32K bytes of SRAM with no added latency on memory access make the device suitable for applications that require fast response times. The device also integrates a wide range of peripheral functions, including two UARTs (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter), two I2Cs (Inter-Integrated Circuits), two SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) ports and four 32-bit Timers/Counters.The PIC18F65K90-I/MRRSL provides a wide range of interrupt sources, including an external memory bus interrupt that can be used for access to external memory. The improved interrupt latency and enhanced chip select accuracy allow external memory accesses with no added latency.The device is highly configurable with an optimized architecture and flexible peripheral clustering.
