The PLMU11 is a current/voltage monitor & relay output device designed for applications such as motor and compressor monitoring. It is capable of monitoring for over- and under-voltage, over- and under- current, as well as single and three phase current. It also has a range of selectable output configurations, including two or three single-pole relays.
The device consists of three main components - a current/voltage monitor, a relay output module and an integrated controller. The current/voltage monitor measures the voltage and current of the monitored load and compares it against user-defined voltages and currents. If the measured values are outside the defined range, the monitor will trigger the relay output module. The relay output module then closes a set of contacts which can be used to switch off the load, or any other form of response as defined by the user.
The monitor is powered by the same voltage as the monitored load and is able to detect voltage levels up to 480VAC and currents up to 600A per phase. The device can also measure reactive power, as well as Power Factor (PF) and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). A key feature of the PLMU11 is its ability to scale its different outputs to different levels. This means that the user can define different responses for different ranges of parameters, for example, closing the relay and tripping a breaker at different current levels.
The integrated controller is the brain of the device - in addition to providing the logic for the monitoring and output operations, it also allows for further customization of the device through the configuration parameters. In terms of powering the relay outputs, the device can be configured to operate from either 24VDC or 48VAC. The built-in LCD display allows the user to adjust the settings as well as view real-time measurements.
In terms of safety, the device is fully compliant with UL and IEC standards and is protected against over-voltage, transient over-voltage, over-current, and short circuit conditions. The device also has built-in surge protection and a built-in EMC filter.
Overall, the PLMU11 is an advanced monitoring device that offers a great range of features and flexibility for motor and compressor monitoring applications. Its combination of current/voltage monitoring, powerful controller, and modular outputs make it ideal for many industrial applications.
