PMIC is short for Power Management Integrated Circuits. Power management is one of the most important technical concerns in the digital era. As the world becomes increasingly digitalized, managing power supply, voltage and current has taken on even more importance. Successful power management ensures a device runs without interruption, is reliable and consumes as little energy as possible.PMICs are based on two distinct application fields: Voltage Regulators and Non-Volatile Memory Controllers. Voltage Regulators deal with providing and regulating power supply and voltage to circuits within an electronic device. Non-Volatile Memory Controllers are used to provide and control all non-volatile memory devices.The PQ018EZ02ZZH belongs to the Voltage Regulators category and it is a linear, step-down DC-DC converter. It is designed to convert an input voltage between 1.8V and 5V to an output voltage from 0.96V to 3.3V. It operates at a switch frequency of 2.2MHz, allowing it to achieve a high conversion efficiency. It can provide up to 3A output current and up to 1.5A output current with a 0.15V voltage step. The PQ018EZ02ZZH can also provide up to 9A total current at 2.5V. To control the output voltage and current, the PQ018EZ02ZZH has an adjustable Onboard Resistor (OBR). The OBR can be adjusted to achieve the desired output voltage or current.
