The PS2561AL2-1-E3-A optoisolator is a transistor photovoltaic output device that offers isolation for a variety of applications including power supplies, automotive, medical, and data communications. The primary advantage of optoisolators is the ability to provide galvanic isolation of an application with few components. This optoisolator is a four-pin device, capable of carrying up to 1.5A and offers up to 3750 Vrms of isolation.

The purpose of the PV cell is to convert the light that has passed through the dielectric material, back to electrical energy. This electrical energy is then outputted to PIN 3 on the optoisolator, which acts as the output of the device.

The PS2561AL2-1-E3-A optoisolator can be used in a wide variety of applications, including power supplies, automotive, medical, and data communications. In power supply applications, the optoisolator can be used to provide noise isolation of high power supplies. In automotive applications, the optoisolator can be used to protect signal lines from high voltages, while still providing galvanic isolation.
