It is a two-stage design that includes a driver, MOSFETs, and a controller. The controller is responsible for controlling the switching of the two MOSFETs. It uses a pulse width modulation (PWM) technique to regulate the output voltage.The first stage of the converter includes a pair of MOSFETs that drive the synchronous buck topology. The high-side MOSFET is connected to the input voltage Vin, and the low-side MOSFET is connected to the output voltage Vout. The MOSFETs are switched by the controller when the output voltage falls below or rises above the predetermined level.The second stage of the converter includes the driver, which is responsible for driving the two MOSFETs and controlling the output voltage. The driver senses the output voltage, and compares it to the desired output voltage. When the output voltage falls belowthe predetermined level, the driver will switch the MOSFETs on, and vice versa.The PT5507N can operate in fixed frequency or current mode for superior line regulation, low output ripple, and fast transient response. In fixed frequency mode, the controller is able to switch the MOSFETs at a fixed frequency and varying pulsewidth. In current mode, the controller switches the MOSFETs intermittently, allowing them to cycle on and off in order to regulate the output voltage.The PT5507N is designed with high efficiency and low output ripple in mind.
