Working Principle

The PT6323B DC/DC converter is based on the buck-boost topology. It is a topology used for voltage conversions from higher to lower voltages, and vice versa. A buck-boost converter works by converting a constant DC input voltage into a varying output voltage, using a switching device, usually an MOSFET or IGBT. The converter is controlled by an Integrated Circuit (IC) that determines the duty cycle of the switching device.

The IC switches the MOSFET on at its peak AC gate voltage for a certain time, and then switches it off. This causes the voltage at the output to dip to its minimum.
