PT7712N is a step-down DC-DC converter that offers high conversion efficiency.It operates at switching frequency of 250KHz. It features maximum output current up to 24A and capable of driving up to 4 LED chains in parallel configuration.This DC-DC converter provides high power output performance with up to 240W with a peak efficiency of 96%. With its integrated power booster, PT7712N can realize greater output power without sacrificing efficiency.it offers industry-leading AC/DC conversion efficiency at active/stand-by power ratio, the efficiency rate of the series can reach up to 97.4%.Moreover, the series employs low power loss, matched with fast transient response, these features reduce the cost, extend the product life cycle and make the product more reliable and efficient.
PT7712N can be widely used in LED lighting, machine vision lighting, automotive lighting, racks, X-rays, and displays. It can also be applied to power supplies, cell phones, adapter, charger, car charger, and other applications.The working principle of PT7712N is that it takes the AC power from the wall socket, then converts it into DC power, and finally converts the DC voltage to the desired output voltage.It consists of two components, the rectifier and the converter.The rectifier converts the AC power to DC power, while the converter is responsible for converting the DC power to the desired output voltage.In the rectifier, the AC power is first rectified to DC power using a diode bridge rectifier. After rectification, the DC waveforms contain some ripples which needs to be filtered out. In the converter, first the DC voltage is converted to an equivalent voltage using a buck topology switching converter.This is done by closing and opening the switch at a high frequency, so that the inductor stores and releases energy to the output.The output ripple is further reduced by using a filter at the output.The output signal at the output is then further regulated using an integrated voltage regulator IC, which is configured to generate the desired output voltage.
