The PT7C4307WE Real Time Clock is an integrated, power-efficient and cost-effective RTC module designed for timing applications which require precise and accurate performance.  The RT7C4307WE offers a wide range of features including but not limited to Real Time Clock/Calendar; periodic wake-up counter; programmable output pulse generator; optional integrated battery; and 26-bit I2C interface.  A wide operating temperature range of 0°C to +70°C (32°F to 158°F) and low operating voltage of 1.8V to 3.6V make the RT7C4307WE well-suited for a variety of timing applications in many industries such as telecommunications, automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics. The PT7C4307WE features a 16-bit wide Real-time Clock (RTC) with a calendar function; a 14-bit wide wake-up counter; plus a programmable pulse generator which can be set up to produce an output pulse at programmable intervals or one time only. The RTC offers a time resolution of one second and calendar resolution of one minute. The wake-up counter offers an appointment time resolution of one day, with an accuracy of approximately +/- 1 second over time. The RTC also offers an optional integrated battery which can keep the RTC running in the event of a power failure. This is especially useful in applications such as those in which extremely reliable timing is needed, since the RTC can continue to accurately keep track of time even in the event of a power outage. The PT7C4307WE also features a high-frequency (4.3kHz) oscillator which helps to ensure accurate timekeeping and help minimize power consumption.In addition, the PT7C4307WE has a 26-bit I2C interface which can be used to communicate with the RTC, as well as an interrupt line for signaling events. The I2C interface allows for simple integration into a variety of systems and makes it easy to control the RTC from a variety of host processors.
