Film capacitors, also known as plastic film capacitors, are electrochemical capacitors whose dielectric is a thin plastic film such as polyethylene, polyester, teflon, and Mylar. PVC10218 is a polester film capacitor with a voltage rating of 250Vac or 350Vdc, and a capacitance range from 0.47μF to 1000μF.

PVC10218 is well suited for applications with high frequency, high pulse rate, switch mode power supplies, and for use in circuits with AC/DC (rectification) high frequency circuits. In these applications, the PVC10218 can offer high surge capabilities and higher ripple current ratings, which often help to minimize or eliminate reliance on snubbers.
