Film Capacitors

Film capacitors are a type of capacitor that uses a film as the dielectric material. They are widely used in a variety of electronic circuits and are accessible in a wide range of sizes and shapes, allowing for variations in voltage, capacitance, temperature rating, and other performance characteristics. Considering all advantages of film capacitors, they remain the preferred choice for most medium and high voltage applications when size and weight is not an issue.

PVC1033 Application Field and Working Principle.

PVC1033 capacitors, also known as Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) film capacitors, are applied in a wide range of high-end electronic applications, such as switching mode power supplies, motor controls, communication control equipments, and more. The PVC1033 capacitors are designed to meet the highest requirements of reliability and performance. They boast excellent temperature stability and robustness under harsh environmental conditions, such as in high temperatures and humidity and in high voltage. Moreover, they have much better self-healing properties than other capacitors.

PVC1033 capacitor has a Dielectric layer which is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as opposed to polypropylene or other materials normally used in constructing capacitors. The use of PVC as the dielectric layer gives it the distinctive advantage, such as extensive insulation range, high voltage breakdown, superior surge capability, excellent temperature stability, long life, non-inductive design, and high safety feature. In addition to these, it provides excellent self-healing capabilities which means that it has a better self-recovery from any internal or external short circuit.

The working principle of a PVC1033 capacitor can be divided into three basic stages. Firstly, the dielectric material (PVC) absorbs electricity until it reaches its maximum capacitance. Secondly, the charged dielectric releases the stored electrets back into the system, providing an output voltage. Lastly, when the PVC dielectric material reaches a level of depletion, it will then be recharged to again store electricity.

PVC1033 capacitors are commonly used in applications that require high voltage capacity and/or long life. They are also used in applications where high temperature and/or humidity level is anticipated. This type of capacitor is manufactured to meet the highest safety requirements and regulation standards.
