They consist of four layers of alternating N-type and P-type material arranged in a sandwich construction. While a Thyristor is relatively simple in construction, its current and voltage characteristics can be a bit intimidating. The Q6008L5TP is an ultra-light, low energy Thyristor belonging to the TRIAC family, which stands for “Triode for Alternating Current”. This makes it suitable for both AC and DC applications.
