Thyristors are solid state semiconductor devices invented and perfected over the years to enable long lasting electronic switches, various forms of regenerative feedback controlling circuits and specific types of amplifiers. A Triac is a three-terminal ac switch made up of two Thyristors connected back-to-back. The Q6030LH3TP is a 30A, 600V, 75mΩ logic level Triac designed for medium power AC switch in the range of 100KHz control frequency. At low frequencies (such as in a dimmer circuit), the Q6030LH3TP Triac can also be used in an asynchronous phase control application. In this application, the Triac is switched ON when the voltage through the main terminal (MT1) and the main terminal (MT2) is greater than the voltage applied to the gate; and the Triac is switched OFF when the voltage through the main terminal (MT1) and the main terminal (MT2) is less than the voltage applied to the gate.
