Specifically, Photo Detectors have been used for the field of Logic Output. This article will focus on the application field and working principle of QSE157 - Photo Detector Logic Output.

QSE157 is a higher performance differential output phototransistor made with NPN silicon technology. It includes an integrated infrared (IR) emitter and two high-gain photo sensor elements. By combining a photo diode, an NPN transistor, an IR emitter, and an amplifier, QSE157 clearly improves the detection accuracy and frequency response. It provides an accurate response with an excellent linear and well defined output characteristics.

The application field of QSE157 ranges from low-voltage indoor/outdoor lighting control systems, velocity measurements, remote thermostats, optical isolators, etc. On the other hand, QSE157 is widely used in the field of logic output, such as logic-level-output switching, logic-level-output drive high voltage relays, logic-level-output data acquisition and others.

The working principle of the device is also crucial. First of all, the integrated IR emitter emission a beam of IR light onto the sensors. The photo sensors then collect the light, and convert it to electric signal. These signals are then amplified by the dedicated amplifier. Finally the output becomes logic level signals.

The output is also controlled by several signals. First, the “ON” signal is used to turn on the IR emitter and active the photo sensors. Then the “OFF” signal is used to turn off the IR emitter and deactivate the photo detectors. The “AD” signal is used to adjust the gain of the amplifier in order to achieve the optimum logic level. Additionally, the “SAS” signal is used to shut down the device power.

To sum up, QSE157 is widely used in the application field of Logic Output. The working principle of the device is to collect the infrared light from IR emitter with the help of photo sensors and convert them into electric signals which will be then amplified and outputted as logic level signals. As a key component of many systems, QSE157 is easy to integrate into the circuit and reliable for long-term operation.
