R5000-AP is an advanced rectifier that belongs to the single diodes rectifiers. This type of electronic component is a cylindrical shape with two small terminals located on the top. The metallic-looking anode and cathode plates have been designed to provide electrical conduction across the metal plates which are the main parts of the rectifiers. The metal plates are made up of two pieces: a metal base metal plate and a metal coating plate. The metal coating plate is composed of metal sheet and metal foil layers (generally copper). The metal sheets are then placed in opposite directions in order to create an insulated barrier between the anode and cathode plates. On the metal foil layers, a thin insulation material is placed in order to prevent short circuits. These components are mainly used in several types of industries.
