RC1170-MPC1-DK

RC1170-MPC1-DK is an integrated solution for radio transceivers developed by Renesas. It is one of the Radio Frequency (RF) Evaluation and Development Kits, Boards that are used to evaluate and develop various kinds of RF systems such as narrowband wireless communication systems. This board is suitable for application in the field of wireless technology such as Bluetooth, Wireless LAN and remote access point developments. In addition, RC1170-MPC1-DK also supports more complex techniques such as software defined radio (SDR) and digital signal processing (DSP).

The working principle of RC1170-MPC1-DK is based on the integration of a Renesas RSKRX231 MCU, a transceiver operating at 868/915MHz and an ARM Cortex-M microcontroller. The transceiver performs modulation/demodulation, frequency/modulation hopping and error correction functions depending on the mode of operation. The MCU provides communication path between the transceiver and the host microcontroller (ARM) which is responsible for signal processing and generation of control signals. The ARM microcontroller is programmed to read digital data from the transceiver, perform signal processing, store the data in the RAM and transmit digital data to the transceiver for modulation.

RC1170-MPC1-DK consists of various submodules including a microcontroller, a transceiver, a transceiver antenna and an RF connection. It allows to connect two control lines between the microcontroller and the transceiver to transfer digital data. The microcontroller uses the two control lines to transmit the digital data to the transceiver and receive the digital data from the transceiver. The microcontroller also receives the frequency of the transceiver from the antenna. The microcontroller passes the digital data to the ARM microcontroller for further processing.

The RC1170-MPC1-DK also provides a user interface which helps to configure and control the different parameters of the wireless communication system. It includes a web based console to configure the transceiver parameters and a graphical user interface (GUI) to control the operation of the board. The console allows a user to configure the following parameters, such as the operating frequency, modulation format, data rate, channel coding, interleaving and error correction.
