The RC1181-TM is a low-power RF transceiver module designed for use in 2.4 GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) applications. It offers superior performance, reliability and flexibility in a compact form factor. The RC1181-TM is compliant with the IEEE 802.15.4 standard and has a high performance RF engine which enables excellent range and reliability. It also offers the flexibility of two RF interfaces (Rx and Tx).

The RC1181-TM is designed for a range of different radio implementations including mesh networking, point-to-point communication, short range wireless data exchange, industrial monitoring and control and many more. Its integrated radio enables bi-directional communication with multiple nodes, enabling efficient and reliable data transmission and low latency communication.

The working principle of the RC1181-TM is based on the IEEE 802.15.4 specification. This protocol defines the physical (PHY) and the media access control (MAC) layers which are implemented in the RC1181-TM. The PHY layer enables the transmission and reception of coded radio signals and comprises of the following sub-layers: physical carrier / waveform, data coding / modulation and spread spectrum.
