The REG102GA-AG4 voltage regulator is a linear type PMIC specially developed by RICOH, which is widely used in various fields such as automotive, industrial, computer and communication (IaC), and medical equipment.The REG102GA-AG4 is a positive voltage regulator, which can achieve ±2.0% accuracy of output voltage. Its combination of low dropout voltage, fast response and good accuracy makes it ideal for applications requiring stable and precise voltage regulation. Its power supply range is from 1.2V to 18V, the output current can reach up to 500mA, and the operating temperature range is from -40℃ to +125℃. In addition, the quiescent current is only 10uA, which can achieve lower standby current, further increasing system power efficiency.The working principle of the REG102GA-AG4 PMIC is quite simple. It consists of a voltage divider and a series of transistors and resistors. When the input voltage is applied, the voltage divider will divide the input voltage into a certain reference voltage and an error voltage. The error voltage is then sent to the non-inverting input of the comparator. The inverting input of the comparator is connected to an integrated reference voltage, and the output of the comparator is connected to the base of an emitter follower transistor. So when the error voltage is greater than the reference voltage, the base voltage of the transistor will increase, so that the transistor will conduct and the output voltage will drop, which the circuit will recognize as a higher output voltage. The effect of this feedback loop will automatically adjust the output voltage to maintain a constant voltage. The power fet transistor can shoulder large current, which has strong over current protection ability.In addition, the REG102GA-AG4 PMIC also provides excellent transient protection performance.
