Through Hole Resistors

Through hole resistors are resistors which use a leaded configuration quite unlike surface mount resistors. The leads, typically made of metal, go through a hole in the PCB and are then bent over on the opposite side which holds the resistor in place. This method of resistor mounting was the standard before the advent of surface mount technology, but still has its applications depending on its advantages.

RN60C1694FRSL Application Field and Working Principle

The RN60C1694FRSL is a through-hole resistor specifically designed to provide electrical insulation between two copper traces on a printed circuit board. The resistor is designed to be placed between the two copper traces and fully encapsulated in a UV-protected, heat-resistant encapsulation such as epoxy, polyimide, or silicone. The resistance of the resistor is adjustable by the number of turns applied to the turns adjustment knob.
