Single-phase rectifier diodes are solid-state components that can work with electrical currents in both directions, allowing them to act as a one-way valve with electricity not being able to move in one direction. This type of diode is used to rectify the current in a single-phase alternating current (AC) to be direct current (DC). This process is known as rectification. The single-phase rectifier is a type of full-wave rectifier circuit, and it is the most commonly used rectifier in AC-DC power supplies.

The single-phase rectifier is composed of two diodes connected in series, one facing forward and the other facing backward.
