RT7021AGS is a Gate Driver from the PMIC - Gate Driver family. It is a high-efficiency, low cost, high-side and low-side combination driver optimized for power MOSFETs. It has the features of low output Voltage (VOS) of 4.5V, fast turn-on/turn-off response Time (2ns for VDD4=4.5V at VDDH=22V) and high peak output current (I P ). It also has protection features including over-temperature, over voltage and under voltage protection.

RT7021AGS can be used in many applications such as LCD inverter, AC/DC switch circuit, DC/DC converter and SMPS. The flexible supply voltage allows it to be operated from 2.5V to 14V. Its maximum output current of 1.2A is suitable for driving high power MOSFETs. Moreover, its low power consumption and small package size make it ideal for battery operated hand-held systems and mobile phone applications.

The working principle of RT7021AGS is based on the self-driving technique. Self-driving is a technique in which the gate driver automatically adjusts its output voltage and current depending on the load resistance, thus obtaining more efficient power conversion.
