A Single Bilateral Half-wave Rectifier with Unilateral Gain or S1BLHRUG is a type of rectifier that works based on a two-stage process. It is used for smaller systems or when a high-speed response is needed. The diagram below details the two stages of the process:

The first stage is the half-wave rectification process. This process is carried out when a single direction current is being directed through the device. In this stage, the electric field is blocked in the opposite direction and the voltage with the electric current is boosted.
