S1KL MQG Application Field and Working Principle

The S1KL MQG rectifier module is a general-purpose rectifier specially designed for three-phase AC/DC power supply systems. It is mainly used in industrial control, DC switch power supply, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and inverter industry. This rectifier module utilizes high-speed avalanche recovery diodes and passive snubber to minimize switching loss and effectively reduce voltage spikes.

The working principle of S1KL MQG rectifier is similar to other types of rectifiers. It uses a pair of diodes to convert alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). By arranging the diodes in a three-phase bridge circuit, the current through each diode is cycled between two directions and the voltage across the diodes is effectively kept constant. For this reason, a three-phase bridge rectifier is also known as a “three-phase full-wave rectifier”.

In order to minimize the negative impact of switching loss and minimize the size of the rectifier, S1KL MQG rectifier module adopts a high-speed avalanche recovery diode and a passive snubber composed of resistor-capacitor. The high-speed avalanche recovery diode has higher current conduction capability, faster reverse recovery time, lower voltage drop and smaller size. The passive snubber can reduce voltage overshoot and resonance voltage on both sides of the contact of the switch.

Additionally, S1KL MQG rectifier module is equipped with several protection functions to ensure the reliable operation of the system. The functions include temperature protection, over-current protection, reverse current protection and so on. The temperature protection function can effectively protect the device in the case of over temperature situation. The over-current and reverse current protection combine with the use of precision current transformer to ensure safe operation.
