TVS diodes are an essential component for protecting electronics from transients, spikes and electrical surges. The SAC50-E3/73 is a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS) that acts as a protection device to guard electronics from the harmful effects of electrical transients.

The SAC50-E3/73 TVS Diode is a compact, low-cost, TRIPLE GLASS BIDIRECTIONAL transient voltage suppressor (TVS) developed using a Silicon Avalanche and a proven design. With both Surge Protection Certification EIA-568-C.2 and UL 1449 4th edition approvals, SAC50-E3/73 is ideal for use in a wide variety of applications.

The SAC50-E3/73 TVS Diode is designed to protect electronic devices from damaging overvoltage transients. It offers excellent protection from electricity spikes, overvoltage and current surges. It is designed for both AC and DC power systems and is suitable for both direct and alternating current loads. It is a compact, low-cost, surface mount device that offers excellent protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD).

The SAC50-E3/73 is composed of a pair of symmetrical Zener diode junctions. When subjected to a high-voltage transient, the Silicon Avalanche of the junction wiĺl quickly fire up and discharge the excessive current to ground maintaining the system voltage within its specified limits. The looping is completed through the high ultra-fast breakdown voltage avalanche, diode, and common-mode filters.

The SAC50-E3/73 Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor (TVSS) makes it possible to protect the loads from electrical overvoltage transients with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Its low-cost and compact size makes it ideal for a wide range of applications, from telecom and consumer electronic devices to power supplies, inverters, and switching systems.
