In regard to its working principle, the device consists of an anode and a cathode lead, the anode being the positive one and the cathode negative. Though, the external circuit cannot be seen, internally, the anode lead is connected to an N-type semiconductor material and the cathode to a P-type semiconductor material inside the device. The SB150A-E3/54 rectifier operates in a single direction path, allowing current to flow from the anode to the cathode. Reverse current between the anode and the cathode is blocked. In other words, the anode current is a rectified current waveform, while the forward resistance of the device is a superimposed resistance waveform.

Overall, the primary benefit of SB150A-E3/54 is that the input side rectifier circuit’s capacitance, AC harmonic distortion order and RFI radiation are relatively low and stable. The device compensates its low BVR characteristics and will mitigate thermal stress reduction as well.
