SBL3040CTP rectifier arrays provide higher integration, higher performance, and lower cost compared to conventional discrete diodes. The working principle of SBL3040CTP is quite simple. SBL3040CTP rectifier arrays utilize Schottky barrier rectifiers which have n-type and p-type regions separated by a thin metal layer, forming a Schottky junction between them. The Schottky junction is formed by a rectifying diode. When there is a potential difference between the anode and cathode, a charge will form in the depletion region of the Schottky junction and current will flow in only one direction, a characteristic of all rectifying diodes. When the voltage at the anode exceeds the voltage at the cathode, the diode is in forward bias and conducts current, when the polarity is reversed and the cathode voltage is higher, the diode is in reverse bias and current cannot flow. In other words, the diode acts as a one way valve, allowing current to flow in one direction only.
