The SI4730-B20-GMR (Gain Measurement Radio) is a cost-effective solution for RF receivers. It offers features such as a fast switching time, high performance, low power consumption and wide dynamic range. The SI4730-B20-GMR applies to a broad range of applications and is particularly suitable for use in measuring radio signal strength or polarization direction.

The SI4730-B20-GMR is based on an integrated circuit design that includes an entire range of RF receiver circuitry, including a low noise amplifier, an adjustable gain automatic gain control (AGC) loop and a signal path measuring circuit. The design is suitable for a wide range of receiver applications from short wave to cellular bands, which can be deployed in any signal type aside from GPS, satellite and microwave.

The SI4730-B20-GMR utilizes a low noise amplifier (LNA) to improve receiver sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. The LNA consists of two stages, an input buffer, two gain control loops and a band-pass filter. These components work together to provide wide dynamic range, low noise and low distortion. The gain control loops adjust the gain of the receiver in a range of up to 80 dB, providing a large dynamic range for the input signal. The gain control loops make use of an adjustable gain control circuit to automatically adjust the AGC loop based on the level of the input signal.

The signal path of the SI4730-B20-GMR includes a fast switching time for easy tuning and the ability to accurately measure the strength of a radio signal. The measure circuit measures the strength of the signal at regular intervals, enabling the radio receiver to automatically adjust its working frequency, gain and other parameters to the optimal settings.
