Introduction
SI4763-A20-AM is a complete, low-power RF receiver processing solution with an integrated, digital audio interface and low-IF demodulation. It integrates many features for the design of a stand-alone RF receiver. This includes AM/FM/Weather Band digital tuning with digitally controlled support of multiple bands, seek, scan and RDS/RBDS data decoding. The integrated antenna input amplifier allows the receiver to meet stringent requirements for off-air reception performance. In addition, digital audio features include integrated audio signal adjustment, volume control, stereo/mono blend, and a 1st-order, low-pass filter for digital audio roll off. Application Field

The SI4763-A20-AM comprises of the following functions:

• RF Receiver - The RF receiver part comprises of an antenna input amplifier followed by a platform specific low-IF software demodulator with a digitally controlled output. The digital control interface provides for multi-band tuning, seek, scan and direct tuning for AM and FM modulation. The software demodulator extracts the multiplex signal from the antenna input signal and uses a novel downstream detection architecture.
• Processing - The processing suite of the SI4763-A20-AM is the component which processes the FM, AM, and weather-band signals to deliver digitally controlled stereo audio, RDS/RBDS data encoding, and audio signal adjustment.
• Audio Interface - The SI4763-A20-AM has an integrated low-power Digital Audio Interface (DAI) which supports low-power, single-pin audio output to a stereo headphone amplifier, and an MP3 decoder.
• Low Power Consumption - The SI4763-A20-AM incorporates automatic power control system to minimize average power consumption. It has a unique architecture that powers down parts of the receiver when broadcasting signal is not present, while still having the ability to detect these signals.
