The SI5319-EVB evaluation board demonstrates the functionality of the SI5319 low phase Noise jitter attenuator from Silicon Labs. It integrates an Si5319 jitter attenuator circuit with an external low noise oscillator and a reference oscillator .The SI5319-EVB is an ideal tool for evaluating and demonstrating jitter attenuation and clock multiplication/reduction for applications such as embedded timing control. The evaluation board leverages a set of control features to enable customers to quickly develop and test both design-in and production verification systems.The Si5319 is a low phase noise clock synthesis integrated circuit (IC) that can be used for jitter attenuation performance improvement in precision clock modules for telecom, computing and embedded systems applications. It offers enhanced flexibility translating input source frequencies from low to high under specific conditions. The Si5319 is a high performance jitter attenuator, which is designed to reduce jitter amplitude by more than 90%. The device has integrated jitter attenuation and clock synthesis features, eliminating the need for multiple components such as jitter filters.The SI5319-EVB evaluation board simplifies the task of demonstrating jitter attenuation to customers. It combines a Si5319 clock synthesis integrated circuit with an external ultra low noise voltage controlled oscillator (VCXO). The board also includes a reference oscillator, as well as synthesizable crystal oscillators, capacitors, inductors, and regulators to provide a comprehensive platform for evaluation and demonstration. It also includes a USB-to-debug interface for programming, debugging, and logging.The board is capable of producing low phase noise clock signals from 200 kHz to 622.08 MHz with selectable crystal frequencies from 20 MHz to 38.4 MHz. The resulting design aids customers in designing low noise, high-quality clock circuits. The board also supports dual low-pressure input options, which allow for independent selection of the main clock input from two separate sources. Additionally, the board\'s selectable gain settings and adjustable loop filter bandwidth allow for fine-tuning of jitter performance.The board simplifies evaluation by providing control features such as frequency, gain and reference clock selection via USB-to-debug and on-board selectable SEL jumpers. These controls enable customers to quickly develop and test their systems. The board also allows for PLL configuration and frequency modulation for an Emulation Mode, providing the customer with the capability to emulate various incoming source clock conditions. Overall, the SI5319-EVB is an ideal tool for evaluating and demonstrating jitter attenuation and clock multiplication/reduction for applications such as embedded timing control. It combines an integrated circuit and several external components to provide customers with a comprehensive platform for evaluating their designs.
