Working Principle:

The SI7021-A20-YM0R detects the presence of moisture in the air by detecting the electrical conductivity of the moisture-sensitive material. The device includes a moisture sensor and a reference electrode. The sensor’s voltage is measured when exposed to moisture and the benefits are converted into an output signal. This signal, corresponding to the humidity levels, is then transmitted to the controller. The SI7021-A20-YM0R uses the Wheatstone bridge principle to detect the moisture.

The SI7021-A20-YM0R consists of four electrodes: a reference electrode, two working electrodes and a guard electrode. The voltage difference between the two working electrodes is then measured, and the value is converted into a corresponding digital value that is passed to the controller. The voltage readings are then converted to the relative humidity (RH) values.

The temperature compensation can be adjusted by adjusting the bridge sensitivity of the device. The bridge sensitivity can be adjusted to measure temperatures between -40 and +85 degrees Celsius. Calibrations can also be performed to ensure the accuracy of the readings.
