Evaluation Boards - Sensors is used to demonstrate the performance of sensors and related components. Si7050-EVB is a device based on this kind of evaluation board, which is designed to measure the microclimate (humidity and temperature) parameters accurately. This compact board provides good performance and stability.
The EVB is based on the integrated CMOS sensor Si7050, complete with a number of external components that provide stability and accuracy. The Si7050 is an integrated humidity and temperature sensor, which is capable of measuring humidity from 0 to 100 %RH, and temperature from 0 to 70 °C. It is a 3.3 V device, suitable for use in battery operated systems.
The Si7050-EVB offers an easy way to connect the sensor to an application, without the need for additional hardware. The EVB has a 3.3V power supply, a voltage regulator, a connector to the sensor, external capacitors, and a set of test points for convenient measurements. It also has a simple user interface with LEDs, push buttons, and a potentiometer.
In addition to the sensor board, the Si7050-EVB also includes an on-board MCU for data acquisition, communication, and control, as well as a set of off-board components to convert the measured data into appropriate outputs for the user to access. In this way, the Si7050-EVB provides a complete environment for measuring humidity and temperature parameters with high accuracy.
The Si7050-EVB includes the Si7050 sensor, the MCU, an ambient light sensor, and an additional temperature sensor. The MCU can utilize the ambient light sensor to adjust the offset correction value, and when this value is combined with the temperature sensor, the system can make accurate temperature and humidity measurements at various environmental temperatures.
The Si7050-EVB also provides an additional MCU with an I2C bus, SPI bus, and UART serial communication with host controllers to interface with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Raspberry Pi systems. This interface allows the user to configure the sensor’s parameters interactively. The user can also access the measured data and adjust the measurement parameters through the same interface.
The Si7050-EVB also offers a GUI-based PC software configuration tool. This tool allows the user to easily configure the sensor parameters, read the measured data, and adjust the measurement parameters interactively. It also offers the ability to monitor the temperature and humidity parameters graphically, and to save and restore settings.
The Si7050-EVB is designed to provide a complete device-level sensor system, in order to measure the microclimate parameters safely and accurately. It provides a significant advantage over traditional humidity and temperature sensing applications, in that it is capable of monitoring the parameters in a variety of different environments. The user interface provides a convenient way to configure the sensor parameters and access the measured data. This makes the Si7050-EVB an attractive and cost-effective solution for humidity and temperature measurement applications.
