The SI8230AB-B-IS1R is an isolator gate driver, targeted at driving large power MOSFETs, IGBTs, and other negative logic devices. These drivers are a high-performance, low-power driver, suitable for use in a wide variety of motor control, power supply, and industrial automation applications .The SI8230AB-B-IS1R has low-side and high-side channels, each with its own on-chip level shifting. This allows the driver to provide full-on, full-off, and pulse-width modulation for both low-side and high-side devices. The drivers have logic inputs that are compatible with a wide range of logic thresholds, inputs from 3.5V to 5.5V, and 12ns rise and fall times. The gate drive voltage can be set up to 28V and has a built-in pull-up resistor for control inputs. This driver has a maximum total power dissipation of 70W and a low temperature rise.The SI8230AB-B-IS1R is a perfect solution for applications such as motor control, power supplies, Security systems, Industrial Automation, Renewable energy and also Liquid crystal display.The working principle of the device is simple. The logic signal is converted into an isolated high voltage signal, which is then used to drive the power device.
