The SI8631ET-ISR is constructed with two isolated integrated circuits and integrated transformers, and is capable of providing 75 kV/µs common and differential mode noise immunity, and 2 KV rms reinforced isolation. It has two channels, one for transmitting and one for receiving. This device is temperature hardened, with an operating temperature range of -40°c to +105°c and a minimum data rate of 3Mbps.

The SI8631ET-ISR can be used as a signal separator to break the electrical connection between two circuits. It helps protect sensitive low voltage circuits from high voltage spikes, and eliminates the need for an external power supply and signal controlling circuits. This isolator is compliant as a controller area network (CAN) network bus isolator, and is flexible to use and configure.

The two channels of the SI8631ET-ISR are driven by one side and the output signal on the other side is taken as input. It uses an integrated transformer, an on-chip capacitive coupling of the transformer, and a unique adaptive transmission scheme to ensure low transmission distortion and maximum signal bandwidth. The transmission rate of the isolator can be set from 0 Mbps to 3 Mbps according to the application.
