Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits
The SI871XSDIP6-KIT is an evaluation and demonstration board designed to explore the concept of power supply voltage hold-up time based on external capacitors. The board is equipped with the ARrow SI871xSX offering a classic on/off signal from the yellow push button. The SI871XSDIP6-KIT works with logic level inputs (push button) connected in parallel with on/off signal and also with three external capacitor combinations (101F/470F, 180F/220F, 220F/220F).

Working Principle
The working principle behind SI871XSDIP6-KIT is to evaluate the power supply hold-up time based on chosen capacitor combination and supplies. The kit has an on/off signal LED and push button having a logic level input connected in parallel with the on/off signal. It has three possible capacitor combinations (101F/470F, 180F/220F, 220F/220F) that can be used to evaluate the power supply hold-up time based on the type of system application being tested. In order to determine the hold-up time, the input voltage should be connected and stabilized to the board before disconnecting it. Then the on/off signal LED and the push button must be pressed at the same time to help in getting the hold-up time. By monitoring the output signal of the on/off LED, the power supply hold-up time can then be measured.
