Inrush Current Limiters (ICL) are devices that protect sensitive components from damage or malfunctioning caused by inrush currents in the power circuit. SL05 30001 is one of these ICLs. The working principles of the SL05 30001 involve the use of a thermistor and an MOSFET transistor to limit the inrush current. The thermistor acts as a temperature-based current limiter which allows a controlled inrush current flow on electrical start-up. The MOSFET transistor acts as a switch which turns the current flow on and off as required. When the switch is turned on, the current flow increases until it reaches the currentlimiting point defined by the thermistor. At that point, the current is limited and does not exceed a certain value. The device can be configured in two different modes, firstly by adjusting the thermal limit of the thermistor to match the current limit required and secondly by adjusting the cutoff voltage of the MOSFET transistor.

SL05 30001 has an MOSFET techonology with internal bypass diode and enhanced latch-up immunity. It also features an in-line connector with secure latch and contacts in order to ensure reliable connection. The device is also compatible with standard SOIC packages and fits in tight spaces. Additionally, it has a reduced EMI/RFI interference.
