Transient voltage suppressors (TVS) are one of the most common devices used in Electronic circuits to protect sensitive components from voltage spikes caused by Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) or noise. They are also used to protect against high voltage transients or power surges caused by load switching, lightning, or power input fluctuations.

The SL05.TCT is a special type of TVS constructed in an over-molded plastic package that is designed to withstand voltage up to 2kV. It is a bidirectional diode and has a clamping voltage of 6V. This current multiplies exponentially due to the avalanche effect and the voltage on the p-region is limited to a certain level which is known as the clamping voltage.

The SL05.TCT can be used in a variety of applications where a fast response to transient voltages is required. These include power supplies, PCBs, circuit boards, etc. In these applications, the SL05.TCT acts as a voltage protector and helps to ensure that the voltage remaining on the components is at a lower level after the transient voltage surge.
