TVS - Diodes have a wide application field and encompass a broad range of components which protect electric and electronic circuits against transients. Amongst those components, the SM5S28ATHE3/I deserves special attention. This single component is composed of two function blocks – a transient voltage suppressor or a transient suppressor-diode (steady-state) and a self-protection switching thyristor. The SM5S28ATHE3/I is designed with a bidirectional voltage clamp diode in combination with a thyristor switch to provide over-voltage protection.
