TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressors) diodes, also called transil, spark-gap, or even crowbar diodes, are the components which are used to protect the circuitry from instantaneous and large voltage spikes which are usually caused by electrostatic discharges or electrical surges. These devices protect the sensitive circuitry from the damaging spikes by clamping the voltage to a specified clamp voltage.
SMAJ150CA-TP is a TVS diode designed to protect sensitive components from electrical transients in various applications. It is designed to protect circuits from 0 to 150 volts. It features low capacitance that does not affect the speed of the transmission-line signals and is also insulated in order to eliminate any electrical shorts.
