<p>The SMAJ51CA-TP is a Transient Voltage Suppressor Device (TVS) designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits against transient overvoltages, also referred to as ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD). This device, in particular, is an Unidirectional device, meaning that it is designed to protect only against voltage spikes from one particular direction. This device is especially useful in applications with mild voltage transients because of its low clamping voltage and fast response time.</p><p>This TVS device is then commonly used in applications in which sensitivity to ESD is an issue; this includes data and telecom lines, as well as consumer electronics. While the SMAJ51CA-TP Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) is especially useful in lightly loaded environments, it should not be used in applications with heavy capacitive, inductive, or resistive loads.</p><p>The SMAJ51CA-TP TVS is a Multi-Line Protection Device. This means that it can be used to protect against multiple input lines, as opposed to a single line protection device.
