The SMB10J24CA-R5G is a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode that is used to protect vulnerable equipment from electrical surges and transients that may induce shorts in the equipment. The device is constructed from two silicon body zener diodes and an integral P-channel junction gate FET, which are connected in parallel connection to allow maximum voltage protection. The P-Channel FET provides a low impedance path for quickly dissipating energy from transient pulses.

The device has a threshold voltage (Vbr) of 24Vdc and a maximum clamping voltage of 140V. The maximum peak pulse power (Ppk) rating is 10W and the temperature range is -55 to +125°C. The SMB10J24CA-R5G is specified for 10V rating and has a power dissipation rating of 5 Watts (W) at TA = 25°C. The device is designed to handle a maximum surge rating of 600W.
