TVS-DiodesTransient voltage suppressors (TVS) diodes are one of the fastest-responding, non-destructive protection devices available in the electronics industry today. They are designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from damaging voltage spikes, which occur both internally and externally. The SMCJ13CA M6G is a compact, high-performance TVS diode that delivers superior performance in a wide range of applications.The SMCJ13CA M6G is a surface-mount, unidirectional diode specifically designed to protect sensitive electronics from transients caused by lightning and other electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. This device has an adjustable power-saving function that allows it to react quickly to transients, while also minimizing the leakage current in both normal and reversing operation. It also has an extremely low dynamic impedance, which helps to minimize the voltage droop caused by the presence of transients.The TVS diode is a silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) that works by switching on and off very quickly to absorb electrostatic discharge energy. The device is designed to let normal power signals pass through while providing an extremely high impedance to any type of transient or voltage spike. The SMCJ13CA M6G is rated up to 13A and can handle peak pulse power of 600W when bidirectional, with excellent clamping capability.
