The SN65EL11D is a high speed, low skew clock buffer, 4 driver, 8 differential receiver that is particularly well suited for applications, such as telecommunications, board-level synchronization, and military / aerospace. The SN65EL11D is also ideal for any application requiring multiple redundant data links connected in a star or tree topology.

The SN65EL11D has two differential input clocks, Clock Types 0 and 1. The output of each clock type is one of two selectable spread spectrum profiles that can sense the input frequency to minimize off-band emissions. The buffered outputs of the SN65EL11D have an adjustable output impedance and can be controlled via the control pins. The SN65EL11D offers skew adjustment and phase control between the outputs and inputs, allowing for more precise timing of the downstream clock signals.

The SN65EL11D is designed to provide an asynchronous output, enabling the output of the buffer to operate with data transitions that match the transitions on the input clock. The output of the buffer will also adapt its speed to the input frequency, cancelling any difference between the input and output frequencies. This ensures that the output is synchronized to the input without any delay.

The SN65EL11D features dual rate jitter suppression, internal phase locked loops, and a dynamic channel equalizer. The internal phase locked loops lock the data to the input frequency and compensate for any phase shift in the input that could affect the output of the device. The dynamic channel equalizer ensures that the output remains equalized, regardless of the variations in the input. The dual rate jitter suppression reduces jitter, resulting in a cleaner, more reliable clock signal.
