SN74AC533NG4 is an 8− bit edge− triggered flip− flop with Master− slave configuration. It is designed to provide a higher level of performance than the standard S and R. The data inputs should be stable when the clock pulse is in its active state, that is, the signals must be held stable when the clock transmits its signals.

Once activated, the device then latches the binary inputs and transmits the data to the output. The master− slave configuration enables the duty of the pulse to be divided between two flip− flop stages and implements retransmission of the data in a setup that can readily be gated by a single clock and a single write control line. The device is enabled by the write control with both edges (rising and falling) of the clock representing relative high speed transmission of data. Therefore, the lower operating and standby power consumption effects of SN74AC533NG4 make it extremely suitable for low power applications.
